Orin Swift Mercury Head 750ML 2021

When we decided not to make Mercury Head in 2020, the anticipation for the next release was palpable. In the cellar, we were giddy, ready to assemble a blend worthy of the famed dimes. The 2021 vintage was fortuitous in both yield and quality, giving us a lot of components to make trial blends with. We’re very excited to bring back Mercury Head as 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from both the Stagecoach and Warnock Vineyards on Atlas Peak, the Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford and the Taplin Vineyard in St. Helena. WINEMAKER’S NOTES An almost-black, opaque garnet core sit s in the glass with slow-moving tears falling down the sides. Immediate aromatic notes of ripe cassis, charred ribeye, sandalwood and freshly cut oak pilfer—breathe deeper for more. The first sip is a complex, layered conundrum of blackberry, black plum, fennel, licorice and dark chocolate. More sips peel back the layers to reveal a rich and balanced wine with a deep cassis core. A sweet linger on the finish closes the wine with softly textured chalky tannins.

The 2019 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine grown along the meandering Russian River. Pronounced aromas of brambleberry, crushed dried herbs and violet rise from the glass. The palate delivers notes of graham cracker pie crust and black plum with undercurrents of dried sage and leather. This wine lands firmly on the rustic side of Cabernet with dusty tannins and a long earthy finish.

Ghost Pines Merlot V20 750ML

In 1964, Louis P. Martini, son of Napa pioneer Louis M. Martini, purchased 178 acres of land which the Martini family developed into a vineyard they named Ghost Pines as a tribute to the native grey pines which at dusk, appear to hover, solitary and ghostlike throughout the coastal valleys. Ghost Pines Merlot draws from multiple winegrowing counties to create a wine as unique as the Ghost Pine itself. Hints of black cherry and ripe berries complement mocha and brown spice notes finishing with a generous, supple texture.

Frei Brothers Sonoma Reserve Sauvignon Blanc V23 750ML

This Russion River Valley Sauvignon Blanc is an incredible reflection of the misty, cool vineyards where it is grown. Classic notes of lemongrass, minerality and crisp acidity are given complexity and depth by rich flavors of tropical fruit, citrus and peach. Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough V21 750ML

Our Origin Series Sauvignon Blanc is sourced entirely from the unique Dillons Point area of Marlborough, giving the wine its focused, fruit-driven flavor profile and hints of minerality. The crisp personality of Origin Series greets you with generous aromas of passion fruit and guava. These exotic tropical fruit characters come through on the rich palate, mingling with notes of grapefruit, lemon and peach layered with herbaceous notes of fresh-cut grass. Refreshingly crisp on the finish, with a lingering sense of sea spray and minerality. The 2021 vintage is being celebrated as exceptional though yields were down significantly (down 19% across New Zealand) due to some late-season frosts and overall cooler weather in the spring.

Brancaia TRE Red Blend V21 750ML

TRE stands for its three grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as for its three Tuscan vineyards (Maremma, Castellina and Radda in Chianti). The assemblage is dominated by Sangiovese with 70 percent, but Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon also bring their charm with 15% each. This well-structured, medium-bodied wine is aged for twelve months before it is bottled. Two thirds of the expansion takes place in French tonneaux and one in cement. This elegant, well-structured cuvée offers plenty of drinking pleasure now or later and goes well with every kitchen. “There is no better entry-level wine than this,” says Monica Larner (for Robert Parker) with reference to the TRE 2014. And James Suckling states: “Really delicious, really juicy, with wonderful aromas of red fruits.” Ideal with: pasta and rice dishes, light roasted or sautéed meat, poultry, fried or grilled fish. Our favorite: with Vitello Tonnato with fresh capers.

Viticulture Notes: We selected the majority of the grapes for Apothic Pinot Noir from the unique Lodi-Delta region in California. With its cool evenings and warm days, Lodi is known as a producer of fragrant, concentrated, and silky textured fruit. California’s 2022 growing season was cool and mild, with a heat spell in August that resulted in an earlier than average harvest. Wines from this vintage showcase vibrant acidity and concentrated flavors. Winemaking Notes: We selected Pinot Noir grapes from Lodi for their rich, ripe fruit characteristics and soft, approachable tannins. Syrah complements the dark cherry flavors with soft blueberry notes. A hint of Grenache adds intensity to the fruit expression, while the unique Graciano variety was blended in to brighten the acidity and add notes of red currant. The grapes were destemmed, lightly crushed and cold soaked overnight to encourage extraction of the fruit’s intriguing color and structure

Our 2022 Mark West Pinot Noir is an approachable, medium-bodied red wine grown on California’s Central Coast. Aromas of strawberry and violet lead to bright layers of ripe raspberry, cherry and warm pastry. This wine offers a silky mouthfeel and finishes with a touch of ground clove. Brancaia Chianti Classico V15 750ML

Brancaia’s Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is crafted with Sangiovese grapes from BRANCAIA’s 2 Chianti Classico vineyard estates. An elegant wine with aromas of black cherry and sweet herbs. On the palate, hints of almond and toast integrate alongside supple tannins before a long, mineral-tinged finish. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for 16 months in a mix of new and used French oak barrels, with Sangiovese aged in 500-liter tonneaux and Merlot in 225-liter barriques. Pair with grilled fish, stews, beef, and rich pasta dishes like risotto.

Ratti Ochetti Langhe Nebbiolo DOC V22 750ML

The fruit has been purchased from the same handshake contracted grower for 50 years. 100% Nebbiolo from sandy soils. 300m asl. 30 year old vines. Aged for less than a year in neutral Slavonian oak. A wine well suited to red meats on the spit and grilled, game, truffled fondue, agnolotti, Italian gourmet dishes of white and red meats, also with spiced sauces.

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico D.O.C.G

Allegrini’s Amarone is a benchmark of the region, a gastronomic and modern style that gives both richness and elegance. A blend of Corvina and Corvinone, with a small percentage of Rondinella and Oseleta. Estate grown. High elevation vineyards. Intense ruby red tending to garnet, it reveals an extraordinary complexity on the nose, with notes of cherries in spirits and blackberry jam, followed by hints of dried violets, dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco. It takes the palate by surprise with its balance, freshness and softness, enhanced by silky-smooth tannins. Viticulture Notes: This year the harvest was long, with slow ripening, and abundant, high-quality grapes. Spring was particularly wet and in early July, due to the considerable number of bunches, we carried out some thinning to restore the equilibrium of the vineyard. A dry period started in July, interspersed with some timely showers. On the eve of the harvest, heavy rains (up to 170 millimetres of rainfall) made us fear the worst, but fortunately, the forecasted poor weather conditions failed to materialize. In September, therefore, we experienced a sort of new, ‘mini summer’, with temperatures reaching up to 33°C, high overall temperatures but also equally high fluctuations (even differences of 15°C between day and night), which enabled the grapes to attain ideal ripeness. Phenolic maturity was achieved in the last third of September. The grapes are in a perfectly healthy condition, with high quantities and quality. Winemaking Notes: The controlled drying (appassimento) of the harvested grapes, which lasts for a about one hundred days, brings with it the great aromatic intensity of dark fruit and undergrowth, together with spicy and tobacco notes. The impact on the palate is powerful and vigorous, with the wine gradually tapering on the acidic and savoury momentum, extending gently with a clean, dry finish.

Estancia 2021 Pinot Noir is a velvety, deep ruby hued wine with a light tannin structure. Our Pinot Noir opens with aromas of plum, cherry preserves and violet in the glass. MacMurray Estate Vineyards Sonoma County Pinot Noir V21 750ML

Our 2021 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a full-bodied wine with pronounced notes of luscious dark fruit. On the nose, aromas of dark cherries rise first, followed by dusts of cocoa and toasted oak. A silky mouthfeel leads to layers of dark raspberry and ripe strawberry with hints of vanilla. The finish is long and lingering with a vibrant pop of cherry at the end.

The approachable, bright and flavorful 2022 J Vineyards Multi-Appellation Chardonnay was composed from three exceptional California growing regions.
