Smith & Hook
Story
Their story begins more than 40 years ago in the hills of Monterey County, where the Hahn family founded Smith & Hook on a converted horse & cattle ranch, launching a decades-long exploration of Central Coast wines. As Monterey’s fledgling wine industry started to take shape, Smith & Hook began to explore neighboring Paso Robles—discovering along the way a team of strong, like-minded growers in the warmer pockets of California’s craggy coastline.
The Central Coast
Ranging from Santa Barbara north to the Golden Gate Bridge, the Central Coast wine region extends 300 miles along California’s Pacific coastline. To craft the Smith & Hook portfolio, they focus on these unique warmer regions ideal for developing rich, bold character in Bordeaux varietals.
